In an age of anxiety, when existence feels precarious and threat is enveloping but unseen, a work of art might be a vessel for containment. ’Dark Field 1' is part of an installation of two works (‘Dark Field 1' & 2’) that represent the physicality of an environment altered by a leakage of affect. Affect exuding from those who inhabit it and the environment absorbing it, so objects are saturated and the space seems un-homely and strange. Space and objects become an embodiment of the affective dimension.
